Anyone trying to download Windows 10 or Windows 11 with a Russian IP is now getting an error message, due to Microsoft apparently blocking the download.
Some users and media have noticed that Microsoft currently does not allow Windows 10 and Windows 11 downloads from Russian IP addresses. Any download attempts from the official Microsoft website returns a 404 page. Anyone who obtains the Media Creation Tool from another source will also receive error messages.
Anyone who wants to download official Windows installation media from Russia must use a VPN service. Microsoft has not officially announced that it will no longer offer download links in Russia, but Microsoft had stopped sales in the country in March and have recently closed its offices in the country.
