On June 6th, Elon Musk warned in a letter to Twitter that he may abandon the $44bn Twitter acquisition if the social media platform fails to provide information of fake accounts and spam.
Previously, due to his concern about bot accounts, Musk had put his takeover offer on hold until Twitter could prove the accuracy of its calculations regarding spam accounts. In the letter, Musk said Twitter’s explicit refusal of its obligations under the merger agreement raised doubts that the company may be afraid that Musk would find something unpleasant after analyzing the data.
According to Musk’s lawyer, Musk believes Twitter is hindering his right to access information, which perfectly confirms Miles Guo’s prediction several months ago that Musk’s Twitter acquisition would be an unattainable deal.
