Lithuanians Raise Funds to Buy Military Drone for Ukraine

Hundreds of Lithuanians are raising money to buy an advanced Bayraktar military drone for Ukraine to help the country defend itself from Russian forces, a Lithuanian online media outlet reported. The funding required for this project is 5 million euros. In just three days, they have already raised about 3 million euros, most of which are small donations.
One donor said, “Before this war started, none of us thought that we would be buying guns. But it’s a normal thing now. Something must be done for the world to get better.”
The drones that the donors plan to buy are known to have been effective against the forces of Russia and its allies in battles in Syria and Libya.
Ukraine’s ambassador Petro Beshta said: “This is the first case in history when ordinary people raise money to buy something like a Bayraktar. It is unprecedented, it is unbelievable.”
