Ukraine Collects Russian Dead For Ukrainian Prisoners Of War Exchange

On May 24, Reuters reported that Ukraine was collecting the bodies of Russian soldiers scattered in the ruins of previously occupied towns. Volunteers helped the military collect 60 bodies in the train refrigerated carriages while Russian troops retreated in the northeast area of Kharkiv. 
Anton Ivannikov, head of the Civil-Military Cooperation Service of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said he was coordinating the exchange of Ukrainian prisoners of war or Ukrainian people held in Russia, Collecting all documents, credit cards, tattoos, and DNA that can help identify these bodies, which will help them to do further identification work in the future. Ivannikov revealed the bodies would be transported by train to Kyiv, where they were used as a team to negotiate in exchange for Ukrainian prisoners of war.
