On May 14, New Zealand Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement that Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, tested positive for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus with moderate symptoms.
And she will not be in parliament for the government’s emissions reduction plan on Monday, May 16 and the budget on Thursday, May 19. Deputy Prime Minister, Grant Robertson, will address the media in her place on Monday, May 16. It is reported that Prime Minister Ardern has been in isolation after her husband and daughter were successively infected with the CCP virus, but was eventually diagnosed.
