Pelosi and her entourage are reportedly due to arrive in Taiwan on the 10th. Should the trip succeed, Pelosi will become the second US Speaker to visit Taiwan since Newt Gingrich. Tsai Ing-wen’s administration is actively preparing to receive the delegation of US Congressmen.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has led to international communities’ growing concerns regarding the possibility of the Chinese Communist Party’s aggression on Taiwan, bringing Taiwan Strait into the global limelight. Pelosi’s scheduled visit to Taiwan will further demonstrate the US attaches special importance to U.S.-Taiwan relations.”
