
Foreign media reported on April 4, after the exposure of the atrocities of civilian massacre by Russian troops in Bucha, a town near Kyiv, France and Germany announced the mass expulsion of Russian diplomats and The Baltic state of Lithuania also announced that it would expel Russian ambassador on the same day.
The West also announced an investigation into “war crimes” committed by Russian troops in the area around Kiev.
The German government declared on Monday that it would expel a “large” number of Russian diplomats based in Berlin, with AFP obtaining information that 40 Russian diplomats had been expelled by the Berlin authorities. France also pronounced the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats on the grounds that their activities were “against our (France’s) security interests”.
