On March 30th, the Ukraine Rescue Team in Medyka, Poland sent an video report mentioning that the rescue site accepted an 81-year-old Ukrainian lady who travelled 60 kilometers by feet to the Poland border to run away from war.
The lady was accompanied by her family members, and they told the team that her son in Germany will come to the border to pick them up. The NFSC rescue site provided resting place and food to help the family stay warm and take a rest.
As one the volunteers, Wen Yao said in the interview: “If it’s not war, the lady would’ve not had to flee her hometown and took this long-distance travelling. We hope that there will be no more wars and may peace come back soon.”
