U.S. Military Leaders Study Ukraine War for Countermeasures Against of CCP’s Invasion of Taiwan

On March 29, foreign media reported that General Tod Wolters, Commander of U.S. European Command and NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), said that the United States was using the Russian invasion of Ukraine as an example to study countermeasures to deal with the CCP’s invasion of Taiwan.

At a hearing of the Senate Committee on Armed Services, Wolters said that the United States and its allies used the Russian invasion of Ukraine as an example for the West to respond to the CCP’s aggression against Taiwan, and said that he had discussed with General Aquilino, Commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, the possibility of the CCP’s invasion of Taiwan, focusing on countermeasures in the event of war in the Indo-Pacific region. Wolters said that Aquilino is very concerned about the development of the war situation in Ukraine, because the situation facing Taiwan is very similar.
