Whistleblower Movement Social media promoted HCQ as a potential treatment for COVID-19 on Jan. 29th 2020, with recommendations from a medical doctor having experience treating malaria in South-East Asia.
On February 4th, after the research team of China passed the approval of the Ethics Committee of Wuhan University People’s Hospital, the “Research on the Therapeutic Efficacy of Hydroxychloroquine for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)”was registered on the clinical trial platform (registration number: ChiCTR2000029559).As of February 17th, the hospital’s “hydroxychloroquine + basic treatment group” enrolled 20 patients with new coronary pneumonia and found that they all improved significantly after treatment with hydroxychloroquine.
On February 19th, 2020, the National Health Commission of China issued the “New Coronavirus Pneumonia Diagnosis and Treatment Plan (Trial Version 6)” which added chloroquine phosphate (500 mg for adults, twice a day) as a drug for the treatment of COVID-19.
This is a question that needs attention. Why do they prefer to use chloroquine instead of hydroxychloroquine, which has similar drug properties but lower side effects and is safer? Are these experts from the National Health Commission of China ignorant or intentional? If it is intentional, why do they not want the public to know about hydroxychloroquine sulfate?
Although as of today, Chinese officials still do not recommend hydroxychloroquine as a standard drug for the treatment of COVID-19, in fact the CCP has been using it in secret. According to internal intelligence sources, senior CCP officials have secretly taken hydroxychloroquine as a preventive drug since December 26, 2019.
At present, many front-line doctors in China also take hydroxychloroquine for a long time. The CCP regards hydroxychloroquine as a strategic asset, mass-produced and exported to countries associated with the CCP. China’s production of hydroxychloroquine in the first quarter of this year has exceeded that of the whole of last year. The Shanghai Pharmaceutical Group set a plan to produce 700 million tablets of hydroxychloroquine in April, which is a doubling of last year’s production.
Now let us review the following situation of the use of hydroxychloroquine sulfate in the world since the outbreak of the pandemic.
On March 17th, 2020, French physician and microbiologist Didier Raoult announced in an online video that a small scale trial involving 24 patients from southeast France supported HCQ and azithromycin to be effective in treating for COVID-19. On March 20th, he published his study in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents. On March 18th, a team in the Wuhan Institute of Virology published the scientific paper about HCQ that is effective in inhibiting SARS-CoV-2 infection in vitro, in the journal Cell Discovery. These were among the very first scientific publications about HCQ as a potential treatment for COVID-19.
On March 19,in Press Briefing President Trump said “Now, a drug called chloroquine — and some people would add to it “hydroxy-.” Hydroxychloroquine. So chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine. Now, this is a common malaria drug. It is also a drug used for strong arthritis. The nice part is, it’s been around for a long time, so we know that if it — if things don’t go as planned, it’s not going to kill anybody.And it’s shown very encouraging — very, very encouraging early results. And we’re going to be able to make that drug available almost immediately.”
On March 21,the National Task Force for COVID-19 constituted by Indian Council of Medical Research recommends the use of hydroxy-chloroquine for protphylaxis of SARS-CoV-2 infection for high risk population.
On March 23,New York Vladimir Zelenko publicly promoted the Zelenko Protocol, which are HCQ, Azithromycin and Zinc sulphate, to treat COVID-19 patients out of hospital. He published a retrospective case series study based on his treating history as a peer reviewed paper in the scientific journal International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents.
March 28, 2020 Updates: the Dr. Vladimir Zelenko had treated 699 coronavirus patients with 100% success and ZERO deaths using Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate, Zinc and Z-Pak.
On April 2, Washingtontimes reported an international poll of more than 6,000 doctors found that the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine was the most highly rated treatment for the novel coronavirus.
On May 18 ,Trump publicly stated that he was taking hydroxychloroquine to prevent COVID‑19. After July, President Trump stopped taking hydroxychloroquine, and on October 2 President Trump was confirmed to have been infected with SARS-CoV2.
Now,many countries, including Indian,South Korea, Costa Rica, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, have successfully recommended hydroxychloroquine for its superior efficacy in the prevention and early treatment of CCP virus. Statistics from the third week of May show that the mortality rate of countries that use hydroxychloroquine as a preventive and early treatment drug is significantly lower than that of countries that do not use it.
More and more first-line doctors have shown the evidences about the effectiveness of HCQ for prevention and treatment of COVID-19. On June 4th, 2020, an article about the treatment of COVID‑19 patients using HCQ that had been published in The Lancet on May 22nd, 2020, was retracted by its authors as the paper was questioned about the accuracy of the data used in the article. This was one of the scientific pieces of evidence that HCQ doesn’t work for Covid-19, which was built on a problematic research.
This problematic study made the World Health Organization suspend HCQ from its global drug trials for COVID‑19 treatments on May 26th, 2020, but the organization announced to resume the study on June 3rd, 2020, right before the retraction of The Lancet paper.
HCQ have been politicized
Contrary to the effective cases given by a large number of first-line doctors, some bureaucratic medical institutions led by WHO claimed that hydroxychloroquine has no obvious effect on the treatment of COVID-19 and even has strong side effects. But their research report is obviously misleading. For example, the treatment group is severely ill patients, while the control group is mildly ill patients. There are even some reports showing that they overdose hydroxychloroquine to critically ill patients, causing the heart burden of critically ill patients to increase, and this has become evidence of the side effects of hydroxychloroquine.
Whether or not to use hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 is not a difficult question to judge, but today’s debate on hydroxychloroquine are no longer a medical issue, but a political issue, and even more a matter of benefit distribution.
HCQ moved the cheese of the pharmaceutical giant
When President Trump first recommended the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 on March 19, he became a target of public criticism. Obviously, this moved the cheese of the pharmaceutical giant. The global pandemic has brought huge wealth to pharmaceutical giants. New drugs, ventilators, testing agents, protective equipment, vaccines, etc. are enough to make huge amounts of money for the upstream and downstream of the entire medical chain, although this is based on the lives and money of countless taxpayers. But all these was changed by hydroxychloroquine. A box of HCQ with 100 tablets for only 37 dollars can both prevent and treat COVID-19. If the whole world starts to use hydroxychloroquine to against the pandemic, then this feast of medical capital will be over.
If this pandemic is a biological war, then the current political struggle for hydroxychloroquine within the United States is tantamount to fighting each other in the face of the real enemy. On the one hand, the CCP keeps releasing the virus, on the other hand, the United States knows that there is an antidote but does not use it. The war that should have ended long ago killed countless Americans in a sad political game.
